AYA's "Dislotech" is a quirky piece of IDM - "Intelligent Dance Music" - perhaps described by the sub-genre term "Psybreaks". It was broadcast on several community radio stations in Australia. It features clunky discordant beats and dreamy trance-styled melodies with bubbling acid bass lines. The rhythms dislocate, coming and going in and out of synch.

The track title is a play on "discotheque", "disco-tech" and "dislocate".

It was originally titled "Sunday, November 98" and was composed and recorded on such a date; during late sessions for EYE's "Politics Can Be Fun" album. Some tracks with similar sounds can be heard on that album via www.EYE.audio

In regards to composition this piece was a new excursion as AYA previously showcased analogue synthesizers. This piece was also arranged and recorded in a very different manner to earlier pieces.

It was first released on the CDr album titled "Preview" that was available via AYA's channel on the mp3.com site of the late 1990s. It was later released on the subsequent "Preview" CDr released directly from the www.BlatantPropaganda.org mail-order record label. By that time AYA had changed name to "ELF" also referred to as the "E.L.F."

This track was composed & produced in the city of Canberra - Australia's capital city - and is an example of early Canberran electronic music.
